The Saraland Sewer Service was added in October 2015.
Our Goal
Our goal is, and always has been, to provide you a safe and dependable supply of drinking water.
Formed in 1960
When Saraland Water Service was formed in 1960 our customer base was 1380. By September 16, 1965 our customer base had risen to 1840. The system had approximately
- 68 miles of pipe and
- one 250,000 gallon storage tank,
- two deep wells,
- 132 fire hydrants and
- 273 valves.
4700 Customers in 2010
In 2010 the Saraland Water Board served 4700 customers;
our system consisted of
- 250 miles of pipe,
- one 250,000 gallon, one 1,000,000 gallon and one 2,000,000 gallon storage tank,
- 4 deep wells, and
- 600 fire hydrants. The combined pumping capacity was 2500 gallons per minutes.
- The average daily water production was approximately 1,500,000 gallons.
