June is National Hydration Month
June is National Hydration Month, making it the perfect time to focus on healthy hydration habits as temperatures rise across Saraland. Drinking enough water helps your body stay energized and cool during hot summer days, especially when spending time outdoors. Keep a refillable water bottle nearby, take regular water breaks when outside, and encourage kids and family members to stay hydrated throughout the day.
February Mail Delay Adjustment
The Saraland Water & Sewer Board approved a one-time adjustment for late fees charged on mailed payments that were delayed in the postal system and arrived after the due date in February. This adjustment applies only to payments delayed in transit and does not change our regular billing schedule.
Customers who believe they qualify may call (251) 675-5126 to have the adjustment form emailed to them, pick up a form at our office, or download one from saralandwater.com. Completed forms may be returned in person or emailed to customer.care@saralandwater. com. To help avoid mail delays in the future, customers may also pay online, use the Saraland Water app, set up ACH, pay in person, or use the night drop box.

GOMESA Grant Supports Sewer Infrastructure Improvements
Saraland Water & Sewer Service has received GOMESA funding for an important infrastructure improvement project located between 2nd Avenue and State Highway 158, behind the Tractor Supply area. The project will rehabilitate approximately 1,350 linear feet of sewer trunk line and elevate four manholes above the flood zone to improve reliability and reduce unnecessary inflow and infiltration caused by standing water and beaver activity.
GOMESA funds will cover approximately 90% of the $1.693 million project cost, helping minimize the financial impact on customers while supporting long-term system performance and efficiency. This investment reflects Saraland Water & Sewer’s continued commitment to maintaining reliable, cost-effective service through proactive infrastructure improvements that protect the community and strengthen the system for the future.
Customer Service Tip
Summer heat can increase outdoor water use quickly. Water early in the morning or later in the evening to reduce evaporation, and check hoses and irrigation systems for leaks. Small changes can help conserve water and keep summer bills manageable.
Bonus tip: use a broom instead of a hose to clean driveways and sidewalks when possible.
