Smart Irrigation Month
July is Smart Irrigation Month, a good reminder to water wisely during the hottest part of the year. A few simple steps can make a big difference, like watering early in the morning, checking sprinkler heads for leaks or overspray, and adjusting timers based on rainfall. Smart irrigation helps keep lawns healthy while reducing waste and saving water where it matters most.
Did you know you may be able to invest in a separate meter for irrigation use only? This can be a smart option for customers who use a large amount of water outdoors, such as pool owners or those watering large lawns.

Our new website is now live, making it easier to find updates, important information, and helpful resources in one place. Customers can also pay their bill online, use the Saraland Water and Sewer app, or set up ACH for a more convenient payment option.
Customer Eligibility for Sewer Service Fee Discount
Qualified customers receive a 55% discount off the prevailing sewer rate.
To qualify, customers must meet both of the following requirements:
- The applicant is age 65 or older or meets the disability requirement.
- The total monthly household income does not exceed $2,400.
- The applicant is the account holder or the spouse of the account holder.
- Annual re-qualification is required each July.

Back-to-School Reminder
As school registration gets underway, remember to keep a recent water bill handy as proof of residency if needed. It is a good idea to save a copy for your records and make sure your account information is up to date.
