Drinking Water Week May 3–9

Hotter days are coming to Saraland, so now is a great time to think about staying hydrated. Drinking Water Week is our chance to celebrate Saraland’s safe, reliable tap water and remind the community to drink regularly—especially when spending time outdoors.

As temperatures rise, your body loses more fluids throughout the day, particularly during outdoor work, exercise, or play. Staying hydrated helps you maintain energy, regulate body temperature, and avoid heat-related illnesses.

A good rule of thumb is to take a water break every 20 to 30 minutes when active outside. Be sure to find shade when you can, and keep a refillable water bottle nearby so you always have access to fresh drinking water.

Saraland Water & Sewer is proud to provide clean, dependable water to our community every day. This Drinking Water Week, make hydration a priority and take advantage of the high-quality tap water available right here at home.

Customer Service Tip

Coffee grounds belong in the compost or the trash, not the drain. Grounds clump and can cause slow drains or block sewer lines. To keep pipes clear, let used grounds cool, then add them to your compost bin or seal them in a bag and toss in the trash.

Bonus tip: sprinkle used grounds into your garden soil to give plants a little boost.

America250AL Recognition

Saraland Water & Sewer Service is proud to support the City of Saraland’s America250AL celebration and the citywide flag sponsorship program. As part of “Stars, Stripes & Saraland: A Salute to 250 Years of America,” residents and businesses will have the opportunity to honor loved ones, veterans, first responders, and community members with flags displayed throughout Saraland from May through July.

This citywide effort will also include community events leading up to Independence Day, giving neighbors a chance to come together, celebrate our shared history, and recognize the people who help make Saraland a great place to live. We are glad to be part of this meaningful celebration and encourage everyone to follow the City of Saraland’s Facebook page for updates and ways to get involved.
