World Water Monitoring Day is a great opportunity to celebrate the importance of clean water and learn more
about the waterways in our community. Keeping track of our water quality helps us better understand and
protect these valuable resources for years to come.
Everyone can play a part in keeping our water clean! Simple steps like properly disposing of household waste,
keeping litter out of storm drains and reducing pollutants around your home can make a difference.
Rate Update
Saraland Water & Sewer is implementing a 2.5 percent water rate increase and a 5 percent sewer rate
increase, which will be reflected on the Oct. 1, 2026 billing.
A minimum-usage customer with a current monthly bill of $37.48 will see an increase of $1.51 per bill, and an average-usage customer with a current monthly bill of $64.18 will see an increase of $2.58 per bill.
These modest adjustments will help us meet rising operational costs while maintaining and improving the infrastructure our community depends on.
Even with these increases, Saraland Water and Sewer rates remain competitive with neighboring utilities.

Coloring Contest
Children can enter the Saraland Water and Sewer coloring contest for a chance to win a $10 gift card to a Saraland business.
To enter, download the coloring sheet at saralandwater.com or pick one up at our office at 307 Shelton Beach Rd. Once your child finishes their masterpiece, you can drop it back off at our office for a chance to win.
Recycling Reminder
Recycling has more of an impact on your water than you might think! Keeping recyclable materials out of the trash helps reduce waste in our community and can help protect the environment and waterways we all share.
Recycling is made easy for Saraland residents through the three recycling stations located at Saraland Public Works, 150 Station Street. These stations are accessible 24/7 and completely free to use.
Customer Service Tip
Save Your Pipes. Don’t Flush Wipes.
Even wipes labeled “flushable” can cause problems for your plumbing and our sewer system. Unlikev toilet paper, wipes don’t break down the same way and can contribute to clogs and sewer backups.
The rule is simple: toilet paper goes in the toilet. Wipes go in the trash.
